MUMBAI: Selfie points on development-related themes with lifesize effigies of PM Narendra Modi have been set up across the railway network.
The selfie points or photo booths (at CSMT in pic above), also featuring models made with fibre, clay or plaster of Paris (PoP) to publicise central government schemes like Skill India, Ujjwala Yojana, Chandrayaan mission, etc, have been set up at an average cost of about Rs 6 lakh each.There are 50 such selfie points across CR, including 10 in the Mumbai division, said the CR spokesperson.
On WR, too, such selfie points have come up at important stations like Churchgate, Mumbai Central and Bandra Terminus.There is keen interest among passengers who come across these booths.
Many are posing to take a selfie alongside the 3D sculpture of the prime minister, said a CR official.
A passenger at CSMT said: It is good picture to post on social media platforms like WhatsApp and Facebook, where it will be interesting to know the reactions of people.Not everyone is impressed.
Kurla resident Amit Sawant said: It would be better if railways work in improving amenities in the train as well as on platforms.
