BHOPAL: A 17-year-old girl was allegedly molested by her friend in Nishatpura.
When her uncle spotted the incident, he raised an alarm after which the accused fled the spot.
Acting on the girls complaint, Nishatpura police on Tuesday registered a molestation case against the accused identified as Kartik, under IPC and POCSO Act while his family members were booked on charges of assault.
Police said that the survivor, a student of Class 9 student, stated in her complaint that she came in contact with accused Kartik through Instagram.
She stated that on Monday evening when she was waiting for an auto-rickshaw to go to her coaching class, accused Kartik reached the spot and made her sit on his bike on the pretext of offering her a lift till her coaching class.
As she sat on his bike, he molested her.
Her uncle spotted the incident and raised an alarm after which Kartik fled.
However, on Tuesday, Kartiks mother, sister and brother-in-law reached her home and assaulted her family members.

The incident took place late at night on Monday.
The mother filed a complaint with Nishatpura police, leading to the arrest of Shyam Krishnan on charges of molestation under relevant sections of the IPC and POCSO Act.
The accused had forcefully taken the girl to his room and threatened her not to disclose the incident.
The girl's mother intervened and rescued her.
