The Dindoshi Sessions Court has granted actor Rakhi Sawant temporary protection from arrest in an FIR filed by the Amboli Police in response to her husband Adil Durrani's complaint under Section 67A regarding the alleged showing of his private videos in public.Through her attorney Ali Kaashif Khan, Sawant had petitioned for anticipatory bail at the Dindoshi Sessions Court in Mumbai.
Khan claimed that Sawant only spoke to the media about the videos in order to discredit Durrani and that Durrani was the only one who had recorded and shared the videos on his phone.Rakhi's Adv Ali Kaashif Khan shared, "Rakhi Sawant was granted interim protection today from the sessions court against FIR filed by Amboli Police on the complaint of her husband Adil Durrani under section 67A for allegedly showing his private nude videos to media."Sawant's pre-arrest bail request had already been addressed by the prosecution, but Durrani's attorney requested more time to step in and submit a counter.
The prosecution has objected to Sawant receiving any kind of relief in their response.
The prosecution stated that their investigation was ongoing and that they needed to identify the person who created and shared the video.Judge SY Bhosale said, "In such circumstances, if the matter is to be adjourned on the instance of the informant (Durrani), then it is just and proper to protect the applicant (Sawant) till the next date.
The Investigating Officer is therefore directed not to take any coercive steps against the applicant till the next date."Sawant's request for anticipatory bail will be brought before the court once more on December 7.Rakhi Sawant appears in Ravana avatar on the occasion of Dussehra, netizens reactEarlier, Rakhi had filed two applications against husband Adil Khan Durrani.
Rakhi appeared at the Andheri Magistrate Court with her advocate Ali Kaashif Khan to file the applications.
The advocate shared, "Rakhi Sawant has filed cancellation of bail of Adil Khan Durrani in Andheri court for continuously tarnishing her image and influencing the witnesses.
She also filed a defamation case against him.
Both applications were kept for hearing on 6 November."
