KATHMANDU: Following main opposition party Nepali Congress& obstruction of the Lower House of the Federal Parliament, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today addressed a press conference in Singha Durbar to discuss withdrawal of Guthi Bill, among other issues.PM Oli criticised former Prime Minister and NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba for obstructing the parliament and termed this act undemocratic. He further said that undemocratic forces are hatching a conspiracy against the federal republic system.
&We all have to remain alert while keeping an eye on such activities,& the PM said.Regarding the Guthi Bill, which was earlier withdrawn today, the Prime Minister stated that he had learnt of the withdrawal through social media. On a different note, PM Oli said our new generation hardly show any respect for the older generation.
He went on to express his displeasure over the media for what according to him is their failure in exhibiting minimum respect towards the honourable post-holders of the county.
&Mediapersons are too direct and disrespectful in their approach.
What is the media teaching our younger generation.
Social Media is so ruthless, where is the society headed to with such degradation of culture& Oli questioned. The Prime Minister was clearly irked by the ‘intellectual community&, again, for he used this opportunity to raise questions on the modus operandi of a section of Nepali intelligensia.I feel embarrassed listening to the things said by so-called intellectuals.
Their uncivil, ill-disciplined approach towards issues clearly shows they lack cultural and moral values.Oli was supposed to apprise the house on Guthi-Bill, achievements of his recently concluded Europe-visit, among other issues. The post PM Oli vents ire on opposition for house-obstruction; slams media, intelligensia appeared first on The Himalayan Times.
