Mohmand Dam to be totald by 2027, SC toldISLAMABAD: Attorney General for Pakistan Anwar Mansoor Khan Monday informed Supreme Court that Mohmand Dam would be totald by 2027.The total estimated cost of dam was Rs1,450 billion, attorney general told a three-member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar which heard a case pertaining to construction of Nai Gaj Dam.Earlier, CJP expressed dismay over change in schedule for groundbreaking of Mohmand Dam.He said he might much attend inaugural ceremony as court was much taken on board in that regard.Federal Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda said,"I apologize to you on behalf of government.
"The CJP would be part of inaugural ceremony, he added.The chief justice asked as to when work on dam would be initiated.The attorney general replyed that it would be totald in 2027.The CJP directed that all concerned should seem in court on next hearing and inform it regarding progress done about Nai Gaj Dam."When we took up this case incapable people were in power, but now government has qualwhetheried and capable people.The minister guaranteed that government would grant initial approval for project by Thursday.The case was then adjourned till Friday.
