Supreme Court decides much to shut Asghar Khan caseISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan has decided much to shut Asghar Khan case, according to Geo freshs on Friday.During hearing, a two-member bench of apex court headed by Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar commented that Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has requested to shut case file.He said Asghar Khan had made a huge effort and court would much let his efforts go in useless.The CJ said court would seek response from FIA."How can we shut case, we shall carry out investigation into matter " chief justice was quoted as saying by TV channels.
Asghar Khans legal heirs want trial of caseThe hearing has been adjourned till January 25.In 1996, Air Marscorridor Asghar Khan had approached Supreme Court of Pakistan seeking inquiry into distribution of money among politicians in 1990 elections.On final hearing, FIA had proposeed that apex court shut case relating to implementation of Asghar Khan verdict for want of concrete evidence.A report submitted by FIA said that authorities did much have enough evidence to launch a criminal prosecution against individuals named in judgement.Legal heirs of late Air Marshal Asghar Khan on Thursday submitted their reply in Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan in associateion with implementation of landmark verdict issued in 2012 in Asghar Khan case and stated that they wanted trial of case with logical conclusion and also stated that court verdict must be implemented and a detailed enquiry be issued for interest of masses.
