ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has issued 2200 Visas to Sikh Pilgrims Tuesday, for the upcoming Baisakhi festival, Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr Faisal has said.Dr Mohammad Faisal took to Twitter saying, visas were issued to Indian Sikh Pilgrims by Pakistan High Commission in fresh Delhi.The spokesperson went on to say, &Pakistan issued visas to 2200 Indian Sikh Pilgrims in line with our efforts to promote inter-faith harmony and people-to-people contacts.&Baisakhi also known as Vaisakhi or Vasakhi is a historical and devout festival in Sikhism.
It marks the Sikh new year (Khalsa era).It is additionally a spring harvest festival for the Sikhs.
The festival is traditionally observed on 13 or 14 April, every year.The festival is important to both Sikhs and Hindus.TheIndianSubcontinent has not verified the content of the source.
