ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) on Friday heard references against the Supreme Court judge Justice Qazi Faez Isa and Justice Karim Khan (KK) Agha of Sindh High Court.Chief Justice of Pakistan Asif Saeed Khosa chaired the Supreme Judicial Council meeting where Supreme Court Judges Justice Gulzar Ahmed and Justice Azmat Saeed Sheikh and Sindh High Chief Justice Ali Amhed Sheikh and Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Waqar Ahmed were also present.Attorney General Anwar Mansoor was also present during the in-camera hearing.A large number of lawyers were present outside the as the council reviewed allegations against the judges leveled in the references.
Meanwhile, the lawyers observed a countrywide strike to express solidarity with Justice Isa.The references had been filed against Justice Qazi Faez Isa and Justice Karim Khan for having properties in London but not disclosing them in their wealth statements.Justice Isa has already rejected the allegations saying that he and his family had been maliciously maligned by half-truth and innuendos by members of the government which was deeply distressing for his family and himself.TheIndianSubcontinent has not verified the content of the source.
