Russia released a wave of drone and rocket attacks on Ukraine overnight, killing a minimum of 7 people, including 6 in Kyiv, Ukrainian authorities said Monday.President Volodymyr Zelensky stated Russia fired 352 drones and 16 missiles, some of which he declared were provided by North Korea.
One person was also reported killed in Bila Tserkva, a city south of the capital.Everyone in nations neighbouring Russia, Iran and North Korea must be believing carefully about whether they might safeguard lives if this coalition of killers persists and continues spreading their fear, Zelensky said.AFP journalists in Kyiv heard drones buzzing over the city center and surges throughout the night.
A multi-story property structure was greatly damaged in the attack, and rescue employees were seen clearing debris as locals protected in basements, scrolling through their phones for updates.Zelensky said five homes were damaged in addition to the property structure.
Rescuers are currently clearing the debris and offering help anywhere it is needed, he added. The assault came less than a week after a previous strike on Kyiv killed a minimum of 28 individuals, and amid stalled diplomatic efforts to end the war.
The last direct talks in between Kyiv and Moscow took place nearly 3 weeks earlier, with no further negotiations announced.Meanwhile, Russias Defense Ministry stated it had downed 23 Ukrainian drones over its areas overnight.
