Currently there are 3063 persons in quarantine at 22 quarantine centres, the National Centre for the Prevention of Covid-19 stated.

Health and Indigenous Medicine Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi stated that five new cases of the Coronavirus were reported, raising the total number of Covid-19 positive cases in the country to 77.

The curfew imposed in the Colombo, Gampaha and Puttalam Districts have been extended until 6.00 am on Tuesday (24th). On Tuesday the curfew will be lifted at 6.00 am and re-imposed at 2.00 pm on the same day.

Arrangements are being made for the smooth return of foreign nationals who are presently in Sri Lanka on tourist and other visa categories. This will be done using both regular flight movements operating through Sri Lanka and also charter flights that may be deployed, as the airport remains open for outbound passenger movements.
