New Colombo - Jaffna air service from today

A new Colombo-Jaffna direct flight will begin today under the governmentinitiative of boosting domestic air services in the country. Accordingly, the government is also focusing attention on developing fight routes to Batticaloa, Mattala and Katunayake in the future.This ATR/72 aircraft provided by the Fits Aviation (Pvt) Ltdcan carry 70 passengers and will operate every Saturday, Monday and Wednesday. The flight leaves the Ratmalana airport at 7.30 am and reaches the Palali airport at 8.30 am.The flight will be operated to coincide with the arrival and departure of all alliance flights between Jaffna and Chennai. A one-way ticket between Colombo and Jaffna is Rs.7,500. and a round trip ticket would be Rs.15,000. Earlier, the cost of the round trip ticket was Rs.33,000.

Lankans from Wuhan Province at Diyatalawa Army Hospital: &So far No Symptoms& say Medical Experts

The Army medical specialists and members of the Chemical Biological Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Response Squadron this morning (1) at about 11.40 am admitted 33 Sri Lankans, including four children who arrived from the Corona virus-affected Wuhan province in China for quarantine and isolation purposes to the exclusively-erected Army sanatoriums inside the Diyatalawa Army Base Hospital after their Srilankan Airlines flight landed at Mattala Mahinda Rajapaksa International Airport at about 7.45 am.

For Coronavirus preventive measures Rs.60 mn provided to 12 hospitals

The Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi said that ministry has provided Rs.60 million for 12 hospitals to meet all the requirements in order to implement preventive measures for Coronavirus infections, Health .Addressing a press conference at the Health Ministry Auditorium in Colombo yesterday, Minister Wanniarachchi said that discussions will be held with the Directors of those 12 hospitals to find out their requirements. The meeting was scheduled yesterday evening.

President instructs to fight coronavirus find local and Western remedies

Sri Lankan students in Wuhan City bring back soon

The Government has taken steps to evacuate the Sri Lankan students and their family members now living in the Wuhan City and bring back to country Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi said today . Addressing a press conference at the ministry she further said that Thereafter, the Sri Lankan students would be bussed to Diyathalawa where Special Medical Centres are set up to provide treatment.
