The Department of Meteorology today issued RED Warning for Severe Lightning says that Thundershowers accompanied by severe lightningare likely to occur at several places particularly in Sabaragamuwa and North-Central provinces and inVauniya, Mannar, Mullaitivu, Kilinochchi and Monaragala districts in the evening or night.Fairly heavy falls about 75-100 mm can be expected at some places in Central, Sabaragamuwa, Northwestern and Northern provinces and inAnuradhapura district.Temporarily strong gusty winds up to 70-80 kmphare also possible during thundershowers it said.
