Dalal Street bade adieu to Calendar 2018 on a flat note, as lack of fresh triggers and mixed global cues ensured that session remains uneventful.
The BSE Sensex closed 8.39 points, or 0.02 per cent, down at 36,068, while NSEs Nifty settled 2.65 points, or 0.02 per cent, higher at 10,862.As many as 27 stocks in Nifty50 closed in green with JSW Steel, Tata Steel, Vedanta, Tata Motors and Sun Pharma gaining up to 3.15 per cent.

BSE Metal index top sectoral gainer With a 1.43 per cent gain, BSE Metal index led sectoral gainers on BSE.
Nalco, SAIL, JSW Steel, JSPL, NMDC and Tata Steel all logged solid gains in that basket.
Bullish signals on 63 counters As many as 63 counters, including HCL Technologies, PVR, Trident and Phillips Carbon, showed bullish crossovers on momentum indicator moving average convergence divergence, or MACD, charts on BSE.
On other hand, 30 stocks including Tata Steel, BSL, Asian Paints, CESC and Mercator witnessed bearish crossovers.
Most traded stocks on NSE Reliance Communications (number of shares traded: 7.16 crore), HCC (6.21 crore), SAIL (2.10 crore), YES Bank (1.90 crore), DHFL (1.77 crore) and JP Associates (1.77 crore) were most traded stocks in volume terms while RIL (Rs 810.60 crore), Indiabulls Housing Finance (Rs 467 crore), Titan (Rs 489 crore), HDFC (Rs 451 crore), DHFL (Rs 440 crore) and Tata Steel (Rs 416 crore) were most active in value terms.
