NEW DELHI: Auto shares were trading in the red in Friday's morning session.Shares of Ashok Leyland (down 3.85 per cent) , Motherson Sumi Systems (down 3.36 per cent) , Hero MotoCorp (down 2.26 per cent) and Tata Motors (down 1.97 per cent) were the worst performers in the index.
Apollo Tyres (down 1.95 per cent), Mahindra Mahindra (down 1.62 per cent), Tata Motors (down 1.49 per cent) and Bharat Forge (down 1.29 per cent) too were trading lower.
The Nifty Auto index was trading 1.02 per cent down at 8139.80 around 10:04 am.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 40.55 points at 10,705.50 while the BSE Sensex was down 98.25 points at 35,777.97.Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 14 were trading in the green, while 36 were in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, ONGC, Ashok Leyland, ITC, SBI, Vodafone Idea, ICICI Bank, Vedanta, Indian Oil Corp, Tata Motors, Axis Bank, BPCL, SAIL, Zee Ent., NTPC and Hindalco Industries were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
