NEW DELHI: Bank shares were trading on a mixed note in Thursday's afternoon session.Shares of Punjab National Bank (up 2.88 per cent), ICICI Bank (up 2.42 per cent), IDFC First Bank (up 0.89 per cent) and RBL Bank (up 0.73 per cent) were the top gainers in the index.YES Bank (down 1.17 per cent ), IndusInd Bank (down 0.46 per cent ), Kotak Mahindra Bank (down 0.25 per cent ) and Bank of Baroda (down 0.15 per cent) were trading lower.
The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.39 per cent up at 27,061.25 around 11:47 am.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 35.65 points at 10,771.10 while the BSE Sensex was up 122.77 points at 35,879.03.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 30 were trading in the green, while 20 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, SAIL, ICICI Bank, Tech Mahindra, Vedanta, Ashok Leyland, SBI, Bank of Baroda, Tata Steel, ONGC and RIL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
