NEW DELHI: The SP BSE Power index was flat with its components trading higher in Thursday's afternoon session.Shares of Suzlon Energy (up 5.48 per cent), Tata Power Company (up 2.57 per cent), Adani Power (up 2.45 per cent) and Reliance Infrastructure (up 1.47 per cent) were the top gainers in the index.
CESC (up 1.17 per cent), GMR Infrastructure (up 0.96 per cent), NHPC (up 0.64 per cent) and JSW Energy (up 0.61 per cent) too were trading higher.
The SP BSE Power index was trading 0.21 per cent up at 1790.68 around 12:04 pm.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 32.55 points at 10,768 while the BSE Sensex was up 112.51 points at 35868.77.Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 30 were trading in the green, while 20 were in the red.
Shares of Reliance Communications, PNB, Suzlon Energy, Reliance Power, Dish TV India, CG Power, Reliance Capital, Allahabad Bank, Vakrangee, YES Bank, JP Associates, Reliance Infra, JSPL, Adani Power and PFC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
