NEW DELHI: IT shares were trading higher in Thursday's morning session.Shares of HCL Technologies (up 3.15 per cent), Infosys (up 1.79 per cent), Tech Mahindra (up 1.73 per cent) and Tata Consultancy Services (up 1.46 per cent) were trading with gains.Infibeam Avenues (up 1.44 per cent), NIIT Technologies (up 1.25 per cent), Wipro (up 0.96 per cent) and Tata Elxsi (up 0.36 per cent) too were trading higher.
The Nifty IT index was trading 1.74 per cent up at 15,606.50 around 10:07 am.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 68.50 points at 11,513.55 while the BSE Sensex was up 228.16 points at 38,361.04.Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 37 were trading in the green, while 13 were in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, LT Fin Holding, Ashok Leyland, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company, SBI, DLF, NTPC, Tata Motors and BHEL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
