NEW DELHI: Auto shares were trading in the green in Friday's morning session.Shares of Bharat Forge (up 3.28 per cent), Ashok Leyland (up 2.77 per cent), Tata Motors (up 2.55 per cent) and Tata Motors (up 2.37 per cent) were the top gainers in the index.
Mahindra Mahindra (up 2.07 per cent), Motherson Sumi Systems (up 1.99 per cent), Apollo Tyres (up 1.72 per cent) and Maruti Suzuki India (up 1.65 per cent) too were trading higher.
The Nifty Auto index was trading 1.27 per cent up at 8338.65 around 10:37 am.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 15.40 points at 11,585.40 while the BSE Sensex was up 47.31 points at 38,593.03.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 33 were trading in the green, while 16 were in the red.
Shares of Bank of Baroda, YES Bank, SAIL, SBI, BHEL, Ashok Leyland, NTPC, BEL, Vedanta, ICICI Bank, Tata Motors, Indian Oil Corp, Hindalco Inds., Indiabulls Housing Finance and ONGC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
