NEW DELHI: Auto shares were trading on a mixed note in Thursday's morning session after many auto companies announced muted April auto sales numbers.Shares of Hero MotoCorp (up 1.76 per cent), Mahindra Mahindra (up 1.49 per cent), MRF (up 1.47 per cent) and Ashok Leyland (up 1.21 per cent) were the top gainers in the index.TVS Motor Company (down 3.64 per cent), Motherson Sumi Systems (down 3.34 per cent), Tata Motors (down 1.59 per cent) and Bosch (down 0.95 per cent) were trading lower.The Nifty Auto index was trading 0.12 per cent up at 8360.75 around 10:09 am.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 20.40 points at 11,768.55 while the BSE Sensex was up 97.56 points at 39,129.11.Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 28 were trading in the green, while 22 were in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland, Bank of Baroda, ONGC, JSW Steel, SAIL, Indian Oil Corp, SBI, ICICI Bank, Motherson Sumi, DLF, BHEL and Indiabulls Housing Finance were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
