NEW DELHI: Bank shares were trading in the green in Monday's morning session.Shares of State Bank of India (up 6.28 per cent), Federal Bank (up 5.88 per cent), Punjab National Bank (up 5.50 per cent) and ICICI Bank (up 5.43 per cent) were the top performers in the index.
Bank of Baroda (up 5.30 per cent), IndusInd Bank (up 4.79 per cent), YES Bank (up 4.25 per cent) and RBL Bank (up 3.53 per cent) too were trading in the green.
The Nifty Bank index was trading 2.95 per cent up at 30,317.75 around 10:59 am.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 268.75 points at 11,675.90 while the BSE Sensex was up 914.92 points at 38,845.69.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 45 were trading in the green, while 5 were in the red.
