NEW DELHI: Auto shares were trading in the green in Friday's morning session.Shares of Motherson Sumi Systems (up 1.53 per cent), Tata Motors (up 1.23 per cent), Mahindra Mahindra (up 1.16 per cent) and TVS Motor Company (up 1.14 per cent) were the top gainers in the index.
Bharat Forge (up 0.95 per cent), Apollo Tyres (up 0.93 per cent), Eicher Motors (up 0.90 per cent) and Ashok Leyland (up 0.84 per cent) too were trading higher.
The Nifty Auto index was trading 0.40 per cent up at 8249.60 around 09:49 am.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 43.75 points at 11,700.80 while the BSE Sensex was up 160.77 points at 38,972.16.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 33 were trading in the green, while 17 were in the red.
Shares of GRUH Finance, YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Adani Power, Bank of Baroda, Ashok Leyland, Adani Enterprises, BEL, Reliance Capital and SBI were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
