NEW DELHI: FMCG shares were trading higher in Thursday's morning session.Shares of United Spirits (up 1.42 per cent), Godrej Industries (up 1.25 per cent), Procter - Gamble Hygiene - Healthcare (up 1.17 per cent) and Godrej Consumer Products (up 0.79 per cent) were the top gainers in the index.
Jubilant Foodworks (up 0.73 per cent), Tata Global Beverages (up 0.59 per cent), GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare (up 0.58 per cent) and Dabur India (up 0.47 per cent) too were trading higher.
Meanwhile, the Nifty FMCG index was trading 0.25 per cent down at 29,511.70 around 10:55 am.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 39.25 points at 11,730.70 while the BSE Sensex was up 158.72 points at 39,271.46.
Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Ashok Leyland, SAIL, SBI, PNB, Tata Motors, JSPL and Dish TV India were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
