NEW DELHI: Bank shares were trading in the positive zone in Wednesday's morning session.Shares of RBL Bank (up 1.50 per cent) , Bank of Baroda (up 1.48 per cent) , IDFC First Bank (up 1.17 per cent) and ICICI Bank (up 1.05 per cent) were the top gainers in the index.
YES Bank (up 0.99 per cent) , Federal Bank (up 0.88 per cent) , Punjab National Bank (up 0.86 per cent) and State Bank of India (up 0.33 per cent) too were trading higher.
The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.28 per cent up at 28,633.70 around 09:55 am.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 13.20 points at 11,441.50 while the BSE Sensex was up 40 points at 38,546.09.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 25 were trading in the green, while 25 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Ashok Leyland, Wipro, BPCL, Tata Motors, NBCC, SAIL and SBI were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
