NEW DELHI: Bank shares were trading in the positive zone in Tuesday's morning session.Shares of YES Bank (up 7.10 per cent) , Punjab National Bank (up 1.24 per cent) , ICICI Bank (up 1.23 per cent) and HDFC Bank (up 1.20 per cent) were the top performers in the index.IDFC First Bank (up 1.01 per cent) , State Bank of India (up 0.74 per cent) , Bank of Baroda (up 0.67 per cent) and IndusInd Bank (up 0.50 per cent) too were trading in the green.
The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.86 per cent up at 29,369.90 around 09:56 am.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 2.60 points at 11,659.25 while the BSE Sensex was down 83.28 points at 39,215.10.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 39 were trading in the green, while 11 were in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, BHEL, Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, SAIL, ZEEL, Ashok Leyland, NBCC and SBI were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
