NEW DELHI: Shares of PSU banks were trading in the negative zone in Thursday's morning session.Shares of Indian Bank (down 8.08 per cent), Canara Bank (down 1.31 per cent), Punjab National Bank (down 1.14 per cent) and Bank of India (down 1.13 per cent) were trading in the red.State Bank of India (down 1.13 per cent), Union Bank of India (down 1.02 per cent), Oriental Bank of Commerce (down 0.87 per cent) and Syndicate Bank (down 0.40 per cent) too were trading lower.
The Nifty PSU Bank index was trading 1.17 per cent down at 2281 around 10:48 am.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 15.20 points at 11,588.90 while the BSE Sensex was down 17.05 points at 39,041.78.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 21 were trading in the green, while 29 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tata Motors, SBI, SAIL, Infosys, Ashok Leyland, Bank of Baroda and GMR Infra were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
