NEW DELHI: Bank shares were trading in the positive zone in Friday's morning session.Shares of IDFC First Bank (up 5.15 per cent) , State Bank of India (up 2.06 per cent) , ICICI Bank (up 1.69 per cent) and Bank of Baroda (up 0.83 per cent) were the top performers in the index.
HDFC Bank (up 0.76 per cent) , Punjab National Bank (up 0.59 per cent) , YES Bank (up 0.41 per cent) and RBL Bank (up 0.22 per cent) too were trading higher.
The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.63 per cent up at 29,291.40 around 09:53 am.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 30.60 points at 11,613.20 while the BSE Sensex was up 124.80 points at 39,145.19.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 22 were trading in the green, while 27 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, IDFC First Bank, ITC, SBI, Bharti Airtel, SAIL, Ashok Leyland and BHEL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
