NEW DELHI: Bank shares were trading in the negative zone in Thursday's morning session.Shares of Punjab National Bank (down 2.18 per cent) , YES Bank (down 1.75 per cent) , Bank of Baroda (down 1.21 per cent) and Federal Bank (down 0.83 per cent) were the top losers in the index.Kotak Mahindra Bank (down 0.63 per cent) , ICICI Bank (down 0.61 per cent) , Axis Bank (down 0.46 per cent) and HDFC Bank (down 0.24 per cent) too were trading lower.
The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.11 per cent down at 30,575.35 around 10:25 am.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 4.25 points at 11,970.30 while the BSE Sensex was up 40.24 points at 40,510.02.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 21 were trading in the green, while 29 were in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, NBCC , SBI, Bank of Baroda, PNB, L-T Fin Holding, JSPL and DLF were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
