NEW DELHI: Metal shares were trading with losses in Friday's morning session.Shares of NMDC (down 2.23 per cent) , Jindal Steel - Power (down 1.85 per cent) , Steel Authority of India (SAIL) (down 1.75 per cent) and Hindustan Copper (down 1.57 per cent) were the top losers in the index.Tata Steel (down 1.27 per cent) , JSW Steel (down 0.89 per cent) , Hindustan Zinc (down 0.87 per cent) and National Aluminium Company (down 0.85 per cent) too were trading lower.The Nifty Metal index was trading 0.66 per cent down at 2641.6 around 10:29 am.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 29.25 points at 11,982.80 while the BSE Sensex was down 82.59 points at 40,571.15.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 17 were trading in the green, while 33 were in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, ICICI Bank, DLF, JSPL, Bank of Baroda, Tata Motors, BHEL and Ashok Leyland were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
