NEW DELHI: IT shares were trading higher in Tuesday's morning session.Shares of Tata Elxsi (up 4.24 per cent) , Tech Mahindra (up 1.48 per cent) , Infibeam Avenues (up 0.68 per cent) and Oracle Financial Services Software (up 0.41 per cent) were the top performers in the index.Infosys (up 0.40 per cent) , NIIT Technologies (up 0.36 per cent) and Wipro (up 0.16 per cent) too were trading hgiher.
The Nifty IT index was trading 0.16 per cent up at 15,320.35 around 10:05 am.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 9.25 points at 11,893.75 while the BSE Sensex was up 53.07 points at 40,337.26.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 20 were trading in the green, while 30 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, SBI Life Insurance Company, YES Bank, Bharti Airtel, Glenmark Pharma, Bharti Infratel, Ashok Leyland, SBI and Corp Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
