NEW DELHI: FMCG shares were trading in the positive zone in Wednesday's morning session.Shares of Dabur India (up 2.42 per cent) , Marico (up 1.11 per cent) , Colgate-Palmolive (India) (up 0.84 per cent) and United Spirits (up 0.84 per cent) were the top performers in the index.Tata Global Beverages (up 0.78 per cent) , Godrej Consumer Products (up 0.70 per cent) , Emami (up 0.51 per cent) and Godrej Industries (up 0.51 per cent) too were trading higher.
The Nifty FMCG index was trading 0.24 per cent up at 31048.45 around 10:46 am.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 88.20 points at 12,028.30, while the BSE Sensex was up 316.27 points at 40,785.97.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 33 were trading in the green, while 17 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Bharti Airtel, Bank of Baroda, Bharti Infratel, RIL, SBI, SAIL, UCO Bank and Corp Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
