NEW DELHI: The BSE Power index was down in Wednesday's morning session.Shares of Adani Transmission (up 2.35 per cent) , Torrent Power (up 0.80 per cent) , Adani Power (up 0.75 per cent) and NHPC (up 0.64 per cent) were the top performers in the index.
While Reliance Infrastructure (down 4.86 per cent ) , Bharat Heavy Electricals (down 1.62 per cent ) , Siemens (down 1.37 per cent ) and Tata Power Company (down 0.63 per cent ) were the top losers in the index.
The S-P BSE Power index was trading 0.21 per cent down at 1929.18 around 11:06 am.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 84.60 points at 12024.7 , while the BSE Sensex was up 309.89 points at 40779.59 .
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 33 were trading in the green, while 16 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Manappuram Fin, Bank of Baroda, Bharti Airtel, UCO Bank, Corp Bank, JSPL, PNB and BHEL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
