NEW DELHI: Auto shares were trading in the green in Wednesday's morning session.Shares of Tata Motors (up 2.26 per cent) , Mahindra - Mahindra (up 1.87 per cent) , Ashok Leyland (up 1.30 per cent) and Bharat Forge (up 1.25 per cent) were trading higher.
Eicher Motors (up 1.12 per cent) , Maruti Suzuki India (up 0.93 per cent) , Apollo Tyres (up 0.65 per cent) and Bosch (up 0.62 per cent) were among the top gainers.
The Nifty Auto index was trading 1.02 per cent up at 8182.25 around 09:43 am.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 50.55 points at 12,088.25, while the BSE Sensex was up 174.24 points at 40,995.54.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 39 were trading in the green, while 11 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, ICICI Bank, Motherson Sumi, Tata Motors, ZEEL, Ashok Leyland, L-T Fin Holding and RBL Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
