NEW DELHI: The Nifty Financial Services index was down with its components trading lower in Tuesday's afternoon session.Shares of Edelweiss Financial Services (down 4.73 per cent) , REC (down 3.41 per cent) , Indiabulls Housing Finance (down 2.66 per cent) and Cholamandalam Investment - Finance Company (down 1.80 per cent) were trading with losses.
Shriram Transport Finance Company (down 1.32 per cent) , Axis Bank (down 1.30 per cent) , State Bank of India (down 0.86 per cent) and ICICI Bank (down 0.71 per cent) too were the top losers in the index.
The Nifty Financial Services index was trading 0.52 per cent down at 14,088.80 around 12:01 pm.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 66.40 points at 11,981.80, while the BSE Sensex was down 187 points at 40,615.17.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 11 were trading in the green, while 39 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, JSPL, Bharti Infratel, SBI, SAIL, Bank of Baroda, Tata Motors and Bharti Airtel were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
