NEW DELHI: Shares of private banks were in the green in Tuesday's morning trade.Shares of RBL Bank (up 1.28 per cent), Yes Bank (up 1.18 per cent), Axis Bank (up 0.67 per cent), City Union Bank (up 0.64 per cent) were the top gainers.Kotak Mahindra Bank (up 0.58 per cent), Federal Bank (up 0.47 per cent), IDFC Bank (up 0.46 per cent), IndusInd Bank (up 0.4 per cent), HDFC Bank (up 0.34 per cent) and ICICI Bank (up 0.12 per cent) too were trading with gains.
The Nifty Private Bank index was trading 0.44 per cent up at 17,724.25 around 09:36 am.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 52.40 points at 12,106.35, while the BSE Sensex was up 193.18 points at 41,131.9.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 42 were trading in the green, while 8 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Ujjivan Small Finance Bank, Trident, Indiabulls Housing, Tata Motors, SBI, SAIL, Bank of Baroda and JSPL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
