NEW DELHI: Media shares were trading in the negative zone in Friday's afternoon session.
Shares of Zee Entertainment (down 4.01 per cent) , Dish TV India (down 2.28 per cent) , TV18 Broadcast (down 1.12 per cent) , Sun TV Network (down 0.99 per cent) , Zee Media Corporation Ltd (down 0.83 per cent) , TV Today Network (down 0.75 per cent) , Hathway Cable - Datacom (down 0.51 per cent) , Inox Leisure (down 0.47 per cent) , Saregama India (down 0.42 per cent) , PVR (down 0.31 per cent) , Balaji Telefilms (down 0.28 per cent) and Music Broadcast (down 0.18 per cent) were the top losers in the index.
The Nifty Media index was trading 1.6 per cent down at 1771.75 around 11:49 am.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 55.90 points at 12,226.30, while the BSE Sensex was down 172.25 points at 41,454.39.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 11 were trading in the green, while 39 were in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, GMR Infra, Tata Motors, ONGC, SAIL, GAIL, NBCC and Zee Ent.
were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
