NEW DELHI: Most of the private banks were trading with losses in Friday's afternoon session.
Shares of RBL BANK (down 2.88 per cent) , HDFC Bank (down 1.68 per cent) , Axis Bank (down 1.4 per cent) , Federal Bank (down 1.3 per cent) , IDFC BANK (down 0.98 per cent) , City Union Bank (down 0.6 per cent) , ICICI Bank (down 0.57 per cent) , Kotak Mahindra Bank (down 0.54 per cent) and IndusInd Bank (down 0.48 per cent) were the top losers in the index.
The Nifty Private Bank index was trading 1.04 per cent down at 17,726.95 around 12:32 pm.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 56.45 points at 12,225.75 , while the BSE Sensex was 170.31 points at 41,456.33.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 12 were trading in the green, while 38 were in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, GMR Infra, Tata Motors, SAIL, ONGC, GAIL, Zee Ent.
and NBCC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
