NEW DELHI: Telecom shares were trading with gains in Thursday's morning session.
Shares of Optiemus Infracom (up 4.73 per cent), Bharti Infratel Ltd (up 4.4 per cent), Tejas Network (up 2.95 per cent), GTL Infrastructure (up 2.63 per cent), Sterlite Technologies (up 2.59 per cent), Aksh Optifibre (up 2.06 per cent), HFCL Ltd (up 1.73 per cent), OnMobile Global (up 1.67 per cent), GTPL Hathway (up 1.25 per cent), Bharti Airtel (up 1.23 per cent), ITI (up 1.19 per cent), Reliance Communications (up 1.18 per cent) and Vindhya Telelinks (up 0.7 per cent) were among the top gainers.
The S-P BSE Telecom index was trading 1.78 per cent up at 1130.94 around 11:01 am.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 157.55 points at 12182.9 , while the BSE Sensex was up 529.12 points at 41346.86 .
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 44 were trading in the green, while 5 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Spicejet, SAIL, GMR Infra, Tata Motors, Bank of Baroda, Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd.
and SBI were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
