NEW DELHI: Auto stocks were trading with gains in Friday's morning session,Shares of Hero MotoCorp (up 1.24 per cent), Maruti Suzuki (up 0.96 per cent), Apollo Tyres (up 0.94 per cent), Bosch (up 0.86 per cent) and Amara Raja Batteries (up 0.84 per cent) were among the top gainers.
While Motherson Sumi Systems (down 0.9 per cent) and Ashok Leyland (down 0.49 per cent) were the top losers in the index.
The Nifty Auto index was trading 0.48 per cent up at 8,194.2 around 10:02 am.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 41.00 points at 12,256.9, while the BSE Sensex was up 135.88 points at 41,588.23.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 34 were trading in the green, while 15 were in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Bharti Airtel, Tata Motors, GMR Infra, SBI, NBCC , Bank of Baroda, Indiabulls Housing and SAIL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
