NEW DELHI: Shares of PSU banks were trading lower in Wednesday's morning session.
Shares of J - K Bank (down 5.44 per cent), Indian Bank (down 2.16 per cent), Indian Overseas Bank (down 1.54 per cent), Union Bank of India (down 1.21 per cent), Punjab National Bank (down 0.97 per cent), Bank of Maharashtra (down 0.82 per cent), UCO Bank (down 0.67 per cent), Canara Bank (down 0.48 per cent), Bank of India (down 0.47 per cent) and Bank of Baroda (down 0.28 per cent) were the top losers in the index.
The Nifty PSU Bank index was trading 0.35 per cent down at 2285.40 around 10:30 am.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 115.25 points at 12223.15 , while the BSE Sensex was up 431.51 points at 41647.65 .
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 40 were trading in the green, while 10 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, BHEL, Tata Motors, SBI, Coal India Ltd, NBCC , Ashok Leyland and SAIL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
