Shares of Indian Railway Catering - Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), Johnson Controls-Hi, Ajanta Pharma, GMM Pfaudler, Pfizer, IIFL Wealth Management Ltd., Sanofi India, United Spirits, Mas Financial Services Ltd.
and GSK Cons Health hit their fresh 52-week high in Thursdays trade.IRCTC on Wednesday reported a 179.65 per cent year-on-year rise in profit at Rs 205.80 crore for the quarter ended December 31.
The figure stood at Rs 73.59 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.Benchmark NSE Nifty index traded 42.75 points down at 12,158.45 following subdued macroeconomic data.Indias industrial production growth turned negative in December, contracting by 0.3 per cent, mainly on account of a decline in manufacturing sector output, official data showed on Wednesday.Factory output, as measured in terms of the Index of Industrial Production (IIP), had recorded a growth of 2.5 per cent in December 2018.
On the other hand, retail inflation jumped to a 68-month high of 7.59 per cent in January on high food prices.Stocks such as Spicejet, Future Consumer, Engineers India, Indian Bank, Allahabad Bank, Oriental Bank and PNB , touched their fresh 52-week low.Overall, 17 shares were trading in the green in the Nifty50 index, while 33 were trading in the red in morning trade.In the Nifty 50 index, YES Bank, SBI, Zee Entertainment, Titan Company, Dr.
Reddys Laborat, TCS, Sun Pharma, Infosys, HUL and Nestle India were among the top gainers, while Axis Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Maruti Suzuki, Coal India, Adani Ports SEZ, HCL Tech, ICICI Bank, IndusInd Bank, NTPC and Cipla were trading in the red.The BSE Sensex was down 142.06 points at 41,423.84.
