NEW DELHI: Vodafone Idea with over 7.82 crore shares changing hands was leading among the most traded stocks on NSE on Tuesday.Shares of Suzlon Energy (number of shares traded: 1.19 crore), GMR Infra (number of shares traded: 0.90 crore), YES Bank (number of shares traded: 0.80 crore), Tata Motors (number of shares traded: 0.50 crore), SBI (number of shares traded: 0.39 crore), Indiabulls Housing Finance (number of shares traded: 0.36 crore), Ashok Leyland (number of shares traded: 0.31 crore), Bharti Infratel (number of shares traded: 0.24 crore) and SAIL (number of shares traded: 0.23 crore) also featured among the most traded stocks on the NSE.
RIL (Rs 205.36 crore) was leading the pack of most active stocks in value terms.It was followed by Indian Railway Catering - Tourism Corporation (Rs 174.39 crore), Indiabulls Housing Finance (Rs 130.38 crore), SBI (Rs 128.10 crore), HDFC Bank (Rs 107.05 crore), HDFC (Rs 99.56 crore), ICICI Bank (Rs 86.68 crore), Hind.
Unilever (Rs 86.48 crore), Muthoot Finance (Rs 85.22 crore) and Tata Motors (Rs 85.16 crore).The NSE Nifty index was trading 41.75 points up at 11,871.15, while the BSE Sensex was up 144.37 points at 40,507.6 around 09:30 am.
In the Nifty index, Hindustan Unilever (up 2.61 per cent), Indian Oil Corporation (up 2.13 per cent), Zee Entertainment Enterprises (up 1.69 per cent), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation (up 1.68 per cent) and JSW Steel (up 1.53 per cent) were among the top gainers.
While UPL (down 1.33 per cent), HDFC Bank (down 0.76 per cent), Dr.
Reddy's Laboratories (down 0.60 per cent), HCL Technologies (down 0.52 per cent) and Cipla (down 0.27 per cent) were among the top losers.
