NEW DELHI: Shares of media firms were trading with losses in Wednesday's morning session.Shares of Zee Media Corporation (down 3.77 per cent), Saregama India (down 2.92 per cent), Hathway Cable - Datacom (down 2.58 per cent), Jagran Prakashan (down 1.64 per cent) and Network 18 Fincap (down 1.55 per cent) were among the top losers in the index.Zee Entertainment (down 1.47 per cent), Dish TV India (down 1.45 per cent) and TV Today Network (down 1.18 per cent) too were in the red.While Inox Leisure (up 1.23 per cent) and Music Broadcast (up 0.19 per cent) were the only gainers.
The Nifty Media index was trading 0.89 per cent down at 1,801.05 around 11:42 am.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 82.20 points at 11,715.7, while the BSE Sensex was 263.45 points at 40,017.75.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 10 were trading in the green, while 40 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland, SBI, Indiabulls Housing, JSPL, GMR Infra, Tata Power and SAIL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
