NEW DELHI: Shares of IT firms were in the red in Friday's morning trade.Shares of Tata Elxsi (down 5.23 per cent), Mindtree (down 5.19 per cent), Tech Mahindra (down 4.99 per cent), NIIT Technologies (down 4.39 per cent) and Infosys (down 4.0 per cent) were among the top losers.HCL Technologies (down 3.19 per cent), Tata Consultancy (down 3.19 per cent) and Wipro (down 3.07 per cent) too were trading with losses.The Nifty IT index was trading 3.69 per cent down at 15,529.15 around 10:43 am.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 328.60 points at 11,304.7, while the BSE Sensex was 1,091.51 points at 38,654.15.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 1 was trading in the green, while 49 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tata Motors, GMR Infra, SBI, Ashok Leyland, Bank of Baroda, SAIL, Indiabulls Housing and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
