NEW DELHI: Shares of PSU banks were trading on a mixed note in Wednesday's morning session.
Shares of Punjab - Sind Bank (up 3.86 per cent), Indian Overseas Bank (up 2.42 per cent), UCO Bank (up 1.76 per cent), J - K Bank (up 1.5 per cent), Bank of Maharashtra (up 1.49 per cent) and Central Bank of India (up 1.08 per cent) were among the top gainers.
While Bank of India (down 2.1 per cent), Indian Bank (down 1.99 per cent), Union Bank of India (down 1.77 per cent), State Bank of India (down 1.76 per cent), Canara Bank (down 1.64 per cent), Bank of Baroda (down 0.94 per cent) and Punjab National Bank (down 0.88 per cent) were the top losers in the index.
The Nifty PSU Bank index was trading 1.13 per cent down at 1669.35 around 10:32 am.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 53.40 points at 10398.05 , while the BSE Sensex was down 119.43 points at 35,515.52.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 14 were trading in the green, while 36 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, SBI, Tata Motors, ONGC, RBL Bank Ltd., BHEL, RIL and Vedanta were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
