NEW DELHI: The BSE Oil - Gas index was trading lower in Wednesday's morning session.Shares of GAIL (India) (down 6.83 per cent), Bharat Petroleum Corporation (down 4.2 per cent), HPCL (down 4.13 per cent), Indian Oil Corporation (down 3.92 per cent), Indraprastha Gas (down 1.55 per cent), Oil - Natural Gas Corporation (down 1.54 per cent), Petronet LNG (down 0.81 per cent) and Gujarat State Petronet (down 0.09 per cent) were the top losers in the index.
The S-P BSE Oil - Gas index was trading 1.96 per cent down at 11375.67 around 10:42 am.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 63.80 points at 10387.65 , while the BSE Sensex was down 171.56 points at 35463.39.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 11 were trading in the green, while 39 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, RIL, Petronet LNG, BHEL, SBI, Tata Motors, ITC and ONGC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
