NEW DELHI: The Nifty Energy index was trading lower in Friday's afternoon session.
Shares of Indian Oil Corporation (up 1.65 per cent), NTPC (up 0.9 per cent), Bharat Petroleum Corporation (up 0.35 per cent) and Tata Power Company (up 0.12 per cent) were among the top gainers.
While Oil - Natural Gas Corporation (down 3.92 per cent), Reliance Industries (down 2.24 per cent), Adani Transmissions (down 1.89 per cent), Power Grid Corporation of India (down 0.6 per cent) and HPCL (down 0.14 per cent) were the top losers in the index.
The Nifty Energy index was trading 0.87 per cent down at 11107.6 around 12:04 pm.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 7.50 points at 9597.65 , while the BSE Sensex was down 3.14 points at 32775.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 25 were trading in the green, while 25 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, SBI, Tata Motors, GMR Infra, SAIL, IDFC First Bank Ltd., ITC, ICICI Bank and ONGC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
