Commercial banks operating in India will be closed in several states on Thursday, April 2, on account of Ramnavmi.
The banks were closed for public dealings on Wednesday for financial year closing.In several states, all regular operations will remain closed, but internet banking and mobile banking will function as usual.
Point of sale transactions via debit and credit card will also function.States and Union Territories where banks will remain closed on Thursday are Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Andaman and Nicobar, Chandigarh, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Gujarat, Daman and Diu, Odisha, Haryana, Punjab, Bihar and Uttarakhand.Banks will remain open in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Goa, Tripura, Kerala, Nagaland, Chhattisgarh, Sikkim, Lakshadweep, Ladakh, Dadar - Nagar Haveli, Mizoram, Jammu - Kashmir, Karnataka, Assam, West Bengal, Meghalaya and Delhi.Meanwhile, Indian equity, currency, commodity and bond markets will be closed for trading on Thursday, April 2, on account of Ramnavami.
The bourses will reopen for trading on April 3, Friday.
