NEW DELHI: Gains in Tata Consultancy Services (up 1.94 per cent), HCL Technologies (up 1.86 per cent) and Tata Elxsi (up 1.09 per cent) were keeping the Nifty IT index in the positive terrain during afternoon trade on Friday.The Nifty IT index was trading 0.37 per cent up at 14,022 around 02:40 pm.
However, shares of Oracle Financial Services Software (down 1.81 per cent), Tech Mahindra (down 1.66 per cent), Infosys (down 0.58 per cent), KPIT Technologies (down 0.46 per cent), Mindtree (down 0.45 per cent), Wipro (down 0.30 per cent) and Infibeam Incorporation (down 0.13 per cent) were the losers in the Nifty IT index.
Market sentiment was positive amid mixed global cues.Buying in heavyweights Reliance Industries, Tata Consultancy Services, Larsen Toubro and Hero MotoCorp were keeping equity benchmarks in the green.The NSE Nifty50 index was up 58 points at 10,808, while the BSE Sensex was up 199 points at 35,773.Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 33 were trading in the green, while 17 were in the red.
