NEW DELHI: Most PSU bank stocks were incurring losses, weighing on the sectoral index in Tuesday's session.The Nifty PSU Bank index was trading 0.96 per cent down at 3,253.70 around 11:45 am.
Canara Bank (down 1.50 per cent), Oriental Bank of Commerce (down 1.22 per cent), Indian Bank (down 1.17 per cent), State Bank of India (SBI) (down 1.14 per cent) and Union Bank of India (down 1.02 per cent) were the top losers in the PSU bank index.
Andhra Bank (down 0.76 per cent), Punjab National Bank (down 0.71 per cent), Allahabad Bank (down 0.61 per cent), Bank of India (down 0.52 per cent) and IDBI Bank (down 0.48 per cent) were also among the losers.
Bank of Baroda (up 0.43 per cent) and Syndicate Bank (up 0.38 per cent) were the two stocks that were up around that time.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was trading flat at 11,550.85, while the BSE Sensex was 29.23 points at 38249.52.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 23 were trading in the green, while 26 were in the red.
Tata Motors, Bank of Baroda, Idea Cellular, PNB, ITC, SBI, Tech Mahindra and YES Bank were among the most traded securities on the National Stock Exchange.
