NEW DELHI: Indian equity market was trading on a volatile note amid weak global cues in the wake of a renewed trade war worries on Friday.
However, some stocks, including Jaiprakash Power Ventures (up 10.53 per cent) and JAI Corp (up 8.92 per cent), were witnessing decent traction in their shares.Stocks such as Camlin Fine Sciences (up 6.65 per cent), Universal Cable (up 6.55 per cent), Reliance Industrial Infrastructure (up 6.02 per cent), Abbott India (up 5.50 per cent), Walchandnagar Industries (up 5.32 per cent) and SMS Pharma (up 5.11 per cent) were trading over 5 per cent higher.
Indian equity market was volatile, taking cues from Asian peers that declined after media reports suggested that Trump administration might impose another set of tariffs on Chinese goods.
The NSE Nifty index was trading 24.3 points up at 11,701.1, while the BSE Sensex came off day's high of 38,838.45 and was up 56.6 points at 38,746.7 around 10:16 am.Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 33 were in the green and 17 were in the red.HCL Tech, Bharti Infratel and Sun Pharma were leading among Nifty scrips.
